On May 7, North Korea test fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). According to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, the missile appears to have been fired from a submarine located on the east coast of North Korea. It reportedly ranged 600 km and reached an altitude of 60 km before falling into the Sea of Japan. This launch comes just days after North Korea’s test firing of another ballistic missile on May 4.
